Candied Almonds

Candied almonds always make me think of Christmas. In Sweden we have a lot of Christmas markets all of december before Christmas eve and in every single market you always feel the smell of freshly candied almonds. This is a simple recipe to make by yourself at home before Christmas. All you need is a saucepan, sugar, almonds and water!


Ingredients:

200 g whole almonds

200 g granulated sugar

50 ml water


Instructions:

  1. Roast the almonds in the oven at 300 °F.

  2. Combine the water and sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat, bring to boil.

  3. Add the roasted almonds to the syrup and let boil until the sugar begins to crystallize.

  4. Move the almonds onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and leave to cool for about 10 minutes.

  5. Enjoy your homemade candied almonds!
