Something that always will work with almost everyone is chocolate. It's impossible to only eat one of these fudgy brownie cookies - I promise!

In this recipe, I've topped the cookies with candy - to make them a little more suitable for a Halloween party. They may not be so spooky, but they certainly will be a favorite to everyone!
This recipe give you about 20 medium-sized cookies.
Ingredients:
150 g all-purpose flour
30 g cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
A pinch of salt
110 g butter, at room temperature
90 g granulated sugar
75 g light brown sugar
1 egg, at room temperature
2 tsp vanilla
150 g M&Ms or colored chocolate chips of your choice
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 °F. Prepare baking sheets and line them with parchment paper, set aside.
Combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl. Put aside.
Use an electric mixer and beat the butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar until creamy and fluffy, for about 3 minutes.
Add in the egg and vanilla. Mix well until combined.
Gradually add the flour mixture, little by little, and combine to a dough. Whisk at low speed.
Pull of a piece of dough and form it, a bit sloppy, to a round ball (I like it when it's not perfect round cookies) and drop it onto prepared baking sheets. Keep a bit of space between the cookies. To get equal sized cookies, you can weigh the batter between forming each ball. Mine weigh about 45 g.
Press down crushed or whole M&Ms lightly onto each ball before baking the cookies.
Bake the cookies 8-10 minutes. The shorter the time you bake, the more chewy/sticky they become in the middle.
Put in a few extra chocolate chips if you want to, right after the cookies is fully baked. Let them cool for a couple of minutes before removing them to wire racks. The cookies will continue to bake on the hot baking sheet if you not remove them and will then loose their chewiness and height.
